Map Builder Forge (Map Creator Tool)

Map Builder Forge is a new mod for Grand Theft Auto V singleplayer mode that allows users to create maps directly within the game. The project features a create mode for placing models, vehicles, and peds anywhere in the map. The goal is to give creators an expanded way to build maps in GTA V.

Key Features:

  • Create mode for placing models, vehicles, and peds anywhere in the map.

  • Edit mode for flying around the map and selecting existing entities.

  • Save maps in (.ymap.xml) and (.json) formats.

  • Load maps directly from your (scripts/maps) folder.

  • Complete Keyboard/Mouse and Gamepad support. (Xbox Controller)

Additional Features:

  • Entity Properties menu for precise manual adjustments and advanced settings.

  • Speed modes for default, fast, and precision movements.

  • Dedicated movement and rotational modes for precise editing and flow.

  • Static/Dynamic toggling for all entities.

  • Vehicles snap to the ground surface / water naturally.

  • Entity Properties have free cam editing capabilities using hover selection.

  • Camera zoom using mouse, keyboard, or gamepad in all modes and the preview window.

  • Search filter for models, vehicles, and peds.

  • Ability to delete entities quickly in create mode, edit mode, or menu.

  • Dedicated reset entity rotation function for keyboard and gamepad.

  • Horizontal/Vertical individual movement functionality.

  • Increased debouncing delay to prevent issues due to occasional model incompatibility.

  • No set model placement limits by the script. (limited to built-in game limits)

Saving Maps:

Once you name and save your map in-game, go to your (scripts/maps) folder and locate your .ymap.xml save file. Start OpenIV in edit mode, then drag and drop your .ymap.xml file into OpenIV to convert it to a .ymap file. Converted maps are Singleplayer and FiveM compatible.

  1. Save map in game (.ymap.xml or spooner .xml)

  2. Drop into OpenIV (.ymap) / Menyoo to YMAP Converter tool (spooner .xml)

  3. Map is now compatible with Singleplayer and FiveM.

Important Notes:

  • Map Builder Forge is a Singleplayer mod for Grand Theft Auto V.

  • Map Builder Forge is a WIP mod and may crash or behave unexpectedly, so remember to save your maps frequently.

  • Mod may become unstable after exceeding 1,000 placed entities due to the games built in limits.

  • Features may change or be removed during the development of Map Builder Forge. Enjoy!
